Chicago Whitewater Association is a 501(c) non-profit organization. Chicago, Illinois
Come join us for a fun trip on the DuPage River. We shifted it because Hickory is too low to run. This is a great run for people who have taken an Intro class and who have learned the Wet Exit and basic strokes in a whitewater kayak. Experienced instructors and aides will guide, teach and keep things safe.
This registration is for those wanting formal instruction. Social boaters are welcome to join us, but just email us an RSVP if you don't need a lesson.
Here's a bit more info before you sign up. First, there is an expectation that you have already taken a pool class or other beginner class and you are proficient with the wet exit and the basic strokes such as the forward stroke and sweep strokes, as well as edging and bracing. This river trip builds upon those skills. This class if for students in whitewater kayaks with spray skirts. Helmets and PFDs will be worn on the river. The class will be taught by an ACA certified L4WW Kayak instructor and qualified aides.
