  • If you are not a current ACA Member select this option. The $5 ACA membership covers insurance
  • This is a beginner class for learning the basics of whitewater kayaking in Class I and II water. Apply the skills you learned in your pool class on this local whitewater course, where we will learn to paddle into and out of eddies, ferry across current, and surf wave holes. To be eligible to participate, you must have taken a CWA pool class or had competent instruction elsewhere (like Bear Paw or the NOC). If you have had no prior whitewater kayak training, you will not be allowed to participate. It is up to the lead instructor to decide if you are ready for this trip.

Third CWA beginner trip of the year. Led by Tom Costello. This is a class I, II river that will be the introductory to beginner paddlers.  Focus will be on, river reading, boat control, strokes, catching and leaving eddies, surfing if levels permit, self  and assisted rescue techniques.
